LTT HOTELS / MEAL DEALS / TRAVEL POLICY / SAFETY POLICY

Safety with LTT

The absolute priority for LTT is always the health and walfare of our groups and we are fully committed to providing the highest possible safety standards in line with the DfES guide 'Health and Safety of Pupils on Educational Visits 1998' and the 2002 appendicies.

All premises used by London Theatre Tours are in central London and are fully licensed and inspected by the appropriate Local Authorities, ie boroughs and the London Fire Service.

London Theatre Tours has public liability Insurance of up to £5 million.

LTT Guides

Beyond the usual requirements of the DfES all Standard and Customised tours have one or more LTT guides assigned to them. LTT requires the mobile phone number of the group leader and requests that it is always switched on except for during performances. The mobile telephone number of the guide is given to the group leader(s) prior to the commecement of the tour.

24 Hour Contact

In addition, all leaders have access to a LTT 24 hour number in case of emergencies.

Coach Travel

All coach companies used by London Theatre Tours adhere to the Department of Transport Certificate of Professional Competence and undergo a statutory annual inspection by VOSA (Vehicle Operators Servicing Agency). LTT requires that group leaders ensure that seat belts are always used.

Pedestrian Safety

The central location of London Theatres and LTT workshops mean that walking in central London forms part of each tour.

With the permission of the group leader the LTT guide will speak to the group on arrival indicating the two dangers of a traffic accident or one or more members of the group getting lost.

When walking LTT requires that one of the teachers is at the front of the group with the guide, another at the rear with other teachers at various points with the students.

Students must not cross any road without permission and the guide and group will always adhere to the appropriate red/green light on pelican crossings.
